AT&T recently announced new cell towers and a planned upgrade to their 3G network in Vermont and the Killington Region following the purchase of Unicel in December.
What does that mean for you? When you ski or ride at Killington this winter, you’ll be able to enjoy all the benefits of your Apple iPhone throughout the resort area. In fact, with three AT&T towers in Killington, including one at the summit of Pico Peak, you’ll be able to surf the web, upload video and photos, post to Facebook and Tweet from virtually any point on the mountain. The only exception is the base of Bear Mountain, which remains a virtual cell phone black hole for all users except Verizon.
AT&T’s service has improved so much throughout Vermont and the Killington Region that a number of Killington employees are now making the switch over to AT&T and the iPhone.
AT&T is moving forward with plans to launch its third generation (3G) mobile broadband network in Vermont later this year, bringing faster wireless speeds to communities including Burlington, Montpelier, Rutland, St. Albans, Hartford, Ludlow, Brownsville, Windsor, Vernon, White River Junction, West Wardsboro, Jamaica, Brattleboro, West Townshend, West Dover, Jeffersonville, Barre, Waitsfield, Essex Junction, South Burlington, Colchester, Williston, Winooski, Warren, Stowe, Killington, Northfield, Montgomery Center, Bennington, Middlebury and Pownal.
How about getting ANY cell service to Stockbridge?????
