Some things you have no control over, including the weather. But, you can always do it again.
Sure enough, at straight up noon when we kicked off the summer season here at Killington Resort and the Pico Mountain Adventure Center with our United Way Day, Mother Nature let loose with some rain showers.
Standing at the Pico Mountain Snack Shack and watching the 40 or so folks lined up at the ticket office eager to donate so they could jump, slide and ride, you could see the disappointment in their faces as rain drops started to fall. And, as the drops fell, the Little Pico Triple stopped turning and the Alpine Slide was closed.
So, with more rain of the way for the rest of the afternoon, we decided to add another day for the United Way fundraiser on Monday, June 29. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., we’ll offer up all the activities at both Killington Resort and Pico Mountain FREE with a suggested $10 donation to the United Way of Rutland County. We’re striving to raise at least $4,000!
By the way, keep your fingers crossed because Monday’s forecast is for temps in the low 70s and some showers.
