Killington sponsored alpine racer Chelsea Marshall (Pittsfield, VT) is among 17 athletes, Olympians, and past World Championship medalists who will represent America at the 2009 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. U.S. Alpine Program Director Jesse Hunt announced the Team following the last weekend of Audi FIS World Cup qualifying events.
"I just finished a long two weeks of racing I did not quite have the results I was looking for but I gained plenty of experience on the World Cup Circuit," Marshall said via email on Tuesday. "I will be racing in World Championship, which Im very excited about. We have a couple of days off and then head to Garmish for a Super-G on Saturday and then training runs start Monday for World Champs."
The biennial event runs Feb. 3-15 in Val d'Isere, France, including the men's speed venue from the 1992 Olympic Winter Games.
