What will you find here? Well, for starters, we’re here to provide you timely information on what is taking place in and around the resort in a non-formal Blog format. From capital projects, to events, employee profiles and people who make a difference around the resort and up and down the access road, we’ll be touching anything and everything.
The personalities contributing to the Killington Insider are myself, Tom Horrocks, Communications Manager and Chris Danforth, Killington's Marketing Manager. We are passionate about skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, golf and all that our mountain environment has to offer. So, without further adieu, let’s get to it!

Wow, what a cool sight to see a huge helicopter plucking towers off the top of Skye Peak this morning! For the first time in 10 years, a new lift was in the process of going in at Killington! They removed three towers and all the pulley assemblies in preparation for the new lift. The helicopter will return next month to install tower parts. In the meantime, foundation work will be getting underway for the bottom terminal, which is currently sitting in the Bear Mountain lot. The top terminal from the old lift will be dismantled and the new terminal will be installed very soon as well. We’ll also be cutting down the tops of the current towers as the new lift will have a lower profile to the ground and be less susceptible to wind holds.
The biggest smile of the day award goes to Wayne Smith. Wayne has worked here at Killington for … well, let’s just say a few decades … and was grinning ear to ear this morning at the site of the of lift coming out and a new lift ready to go in!
I hope you enjoy the photos. Check back often for the latest updates from Killington.
